PS3 Gamescom Round-Up

Three new trailers, for three coming PS3 games; Resistance 3, SSX and Uncharted 3. Of course, all of which are from Gamescom, a gaming event I sorely wish I could attend, too bad it's in another part of the world, Germany.

EA Sports SSX
I was a huge fan of the older SSX games and I've been waiting to see any gameplay footage of the new game. It still looks a bit away from release, but I can't wait. The video from Gamescom is trying to show off the online mode off the game. You can directly race against other players, but it is always tracking other players and you in leaderboards. It also shows some kind of course tracking, that has it so you can compete against the ghosts of other players. It looks interesting, but nothing spectacular; I'm far more excited about the single player than the multiplayer. Although, It could be really fun. Check out this trailer, new from Gamescom today. For more info on the game check out the main website.
SSX Multiplayer Trailer

Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception
Anyone who's read anything from me before relating to Uncharted, knows that I'm a big fan of the series and this video makes me even more excited. It's showing off a segment of the game, singleplayer, that has Nathan trying to get onto a moving cargo plane. If you've played the beta then you may recognize this level as the area of one of the multiplayer levels, and if you haven't played the beta, why the hell not? It was free. Uncharted 3 is coming out this holiday season and it's shaping up to be a great piece of entertainment, just like Uncharted 2 was. Of course, if you weren't a fan of Uncharted 2, then you probably aren't going to have your opinion changed because of this video, but nevertheless you should take a gander. For extra information, head on over to the main website for Uncharted 3.

Resistance 3
Resistance 3 is a solid shooter, it has good mechanics and decent entertainment value, but I've only found it fun to play with a friend. The story has never been a strong point in the game, but now I'm a little bit interested. This gamescom trailer has zero gameplay, but it has a lot of character and personality, enough to make me want to know more. We played Resistance 3 at E3 2011 and thought it was pretty fun, but nothing to beat Gears of War 3 or Modern Warfare. It seems they may be focusing on the story for this one and it's got me interested enough to at least check out a demo of it sometime. This game comes out next month, September 6th to be exact, and it may prove to be something special. For now, check out the trailer and head on over to their main website for more details.
