This is truly a lovely game, even though I haven't seen it in like 2-3 years. I remember throwing money down it like no ones business when i was 8-9 years old. It's a Final Fight type of game, but you get a gun. You can dish out punishment to the punks of Detroit in many ways. You can shoot them, pummel them, throw heavy objects at them, or toss them around like a rag doll. I enjoy shooting them myself. If you break enough boxes (or heads), you might find a few weapon upgrades such as a laser or rocket launcher.
Gameplay:
Like I said, it's kind of like Final Fight, but with many major differences. You get to lay down the law with your trusty gun, many baddies are armed themselves, and thee are some hostages for you to save. On one occasion, a baddie tried runnng me down with his truck. I had to mash buttons to make sure i didnt become robokill. At another point, I passed an alley where baddies tried shooting me, the game suddenly turned into a FPS and I had to shoot them up in FPS style. This game changes a lot...
Control:
The controls are very simple. You have your movement stick, a jump button, a punch button, and a shoot button. If you want to pick something up (e.i. weapon, barrel) you hit the punch button. Everything else pretty much explains itself.
Replay value:
After beating the game once, you may want to take 2-3 more cracks at it. This game takes quite a bit of skill, so it's good for anyone looking to test themselves. After you play it once, you'll come back a few more times. The first time I played this game, it took me $2 just to get past the 2nd level. It's also fun to try to test yourself to see how long you can hold on to a weapon powerup.
Final Thoughts:
This movie may not have been the greatest ever, but you may forgive it after playing this game. When you first play, you may think of it as just another Final Fight clone, but far from it my friend. If you are ever lucky enough to stumble across this gem, put a few quarters in her and have fun. It's games like these that help us flashback and remember how games used to be.
This game is going to give you some Good Times
Thank you RoboCop for taking so many of our hard earned Quarters....
