End of the Day Updates: MERP

Middle Earth Roleplaying Project is a Lord of the Rings mod for Oblivion, Elder Scrolls IV. MERP is a huge mod for Oblivion, one that has been around for many years, maybe since 2006 or 2007. They have created a map seven times the size of Cyrodil, the original region of Oblivion. With Oblivion they have created a vast world, one that had much of Lord of the Rings infused in it, but it was such a big project. They have not been able to complete that many weapons, or quests, but mainly just the map. Now they have decided to move on. Move on to what? Elder Scrolls V: Skryim, of course. I never got to play MERP, I was always waiting to for more to get into the beta, but it looked so very impressive and their goals are grand. This is definitely one of those modifications that has always seemed overly ambitious, but I'm a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and I would love to see that come to life with the engine of Skryim. Here is the "flier" they have put together for MERP. Sounds great, looks great and I can't wait to see what comes out of it.

The last trailer they did for the mod was over a year ago, but nevertheless it's still interesting to see some of their creations. Here's to hoping that the mod team is quicker with Skyrim.

I wish MERP had been completed for Oblivion, but at least they are moving onto the new game instead of letting it die. One of the main reasons they are moving it to Skyrim is for it's new engine. Oblivion has placed many limitations upon their modding and they are excited about the possibilities. One of the most important things to note about this update is that they are porting MERP to Skyrim, not starting from scratch. I'm not sure how that will work with the new engine, but I hope that's a easy process for them. Thanks for reading and up next is Demolition Inc.
