New Rainbow Six Announced + First Video

The new Rainbow Six is called Patriots and it was announced today. They are slating it for 2013 release, so it's not even close to coming out, but it be bringing back one of my favorite series. They are taking the story in a "new narrative direction" which could be for better or worse. The game will let you see the perspectives of several different people as you deal with the new threat of a group called the "True Patriots", a highly armed and well trained revolutionary group that focuses on taking out the corporate greed of America. They are trying to bring some humanity to the series by creating situations where the player will have to make tough ethical decisions about these new "terrorists". It will still feature multiplayer on top of the singleplayer gameplay, along with a cooperative, just like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 presumably, but they claim that all of these modes will be innovative and require real teamwork. The game will be coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2013. There isn't any screenshots or anything of the game yet, but more information will be released on Game Informer Magazines December 2011 issue. You can also check out of all the information over at the new Rainbow Six website which I will link below. I am really excited about a new Rainbow Six, I thoroughly loved playing cooperative and competitive multiplayer with friends in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I always hoped that one day they would return to how Rainbow Six originally was, a much more tactical squad based view, but this FPS small squad based system will probably be the closest thing to it among most games out there these days. Thanks for reading and I will be back with more later.

*Update- They have just released a gameplay video for Patriots, except they claim it's not actual gameplay, it's just to show off the games engine and ideas I guess. Check it out below.
