The one new screenshot
With the Stranger's Dream DLC we get three pieces of content:
1.The Stranger's Dream: One of those "Who Knows Where" levels, the one's that have the narration at the end of each wave of enemies. It is supposed to be the most challenging of this levels and it will also provide more background into Ruck's story plus some information about Caelondia. This level will be available early on in the story, but you must have completed the story once in order to access it.
2. Score Attack Mode: This is an interesting mode that changes that game into a score based arcade type of game. You start the game with all the spirits and idols unlocked while also being level one, then you go through the game getting rated on performance. Also, all the areas will be repeatable for better score. This mode is probably just for the people who love to see their names up on the leaderboards, oh yes there will be new leaderboards accompanying this. Like Stranger's Dream, you can get to this mode pretty early on but you need to have completed the story once.
3. No-Sweat Mode: I'm going to call this one ultra easy mode, but they would just call it no stress story mode. In this mode you don't have to worry about dying and you have unlimited chances to continue on. The whole point of this mode is so you can just go through the story without any of the worry, or real challenge I guess. I disagree with the existence of this mode, but maybe I'm just an elitist snob.
That's it for the DLC it's not a ton of content, but it's not insignificant either and certainly nothing to complain about for its low low price of free/$1. Now onto the other slightly less important Bastion News. For more information on the DLC check out the official post over at Supergiant Games.
Play Bastion From Your Browser!
You can now play Bastion on your browser through Google Chromes Web Store. They originally showed off the capabilites of this technology by having Plants Versus Zombies run smoothly through the Chrome browser, but now Bastion is available as well in it's entirety. Like every other version you can buy it for $15 on the store and you can also play the demo the takes you through the prologue. Here is what it requires you have in order to play it...
Requirements
"- Processor: 1.7 GHz Dual Core or Greater
- Memory: 2 GB
- Hard Disk Space: 1.0 GB
- Video Card: 512 MB graphics card (shader model 2)
(Note: Gamepad controllers are not supported in this initial release.)"
The most important part of them releasing Bastion from Chrome is that you can now play it damn near anywhere and from any type of operating system that supports the Google Chrome web browser.
