Sine Mora Announcement

Yesterday a new diesel-punk shooter XBLA exclusive was announced by Digital Reality. It is called Sine Mora and it looks like a graphically impressive high quality shooter. There is a very small amount of details available about the game but they just released their first trailer as well. The game will have seven stages, all of which are based on "time extension based gameplay", which probably has to do with the fifty weapons that are described as time manipulating devices. Also, a scoring and story system that is designed to be appealing to hardcore and casual players. Based on the gameplay below I would say that it doesn't look to be at all easy, as someone who doesn't play side scrolling shooters often it looks frustratingly difficult. The soundtrack is composed by Akira Yamaoka, the Sound Director of Silent Hill and Shadows of the Damned among many other games. The game is also being co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture from Japan, whom you may know as being the developers for No More Heroes or Shining Soul. They are really trying to say that story is strong with this shooter and will make the genre a little more enticing, but they haven't shown off any gameplay officially, other than the one that IGN got from their demo at PAX. Check those out below. The game is set for release sometime "winter" which to me seems like right now, but people keep telling me that Winter is just starting, so I guess sometime in the next couple of months. Thanks for reading and be back with Achtung Panzer impressions later.
