Just like the first game, Trine 2 is all about using your three heroes, the thief, wizard and warrior, to traverse through puzzles and combat filled environments. Each character has different skills that develop throughout the game and if it's anything like the original you progress your skills by finding items and leveling up. Trine is one of those adventure games that is filled with secrets areas and hidden items. In the first game I meticulously went through the game and only managed to get 85% or so of all the secrets by the end. It helped that the game is also pretty long, but it didn't have much replay value. The first game was well received among critics and players, the second one looks to improve upon everything from the first game. Trine only came out on PC and PSN, while the new one is being released across XBLA, PSN and PC.

The graphics in Trine 2 have been enhanced and look absolutely gorgeous, just look at the way the lights glow and moon shines down upon the environment. With regards to gameplay it looks to be pretty similar controls and action style. The big new features are online/local three player coop and the new game + mode that is been added to extend replayability. The first game was a blast and Trine 2 looks to be an even greater deal for $15, do check out a demo, at least, when it comes out tomorrow on Steam, if there is a demo, but there definitely will be a demo when it comes out on PSN and XBLA later this month. Check out the humorous new trailer below that shows off some concepts of the game.

ReplyDeleteThe original Trine came out on XBLA and PSN. Check your facts.
It never came out on XBLA, but it did on PSN. Thanks for the fix though, never knew it got ported at all.
