Scribblenauts Remix Review

iPhone Screenshot 3
Writing my way through numerous situations of varying difficulty in order get my hands on those beautiful stars; that is indeed the goal of Scribblenauts. There have been many Scribblenauts for several different platforms, but Scribblenauts Remix is one of the newest and for iPhone and iPad. If you've never played any other Scribblenauts, like I hadn't before playing this one, then you should know that these games are all about creativity. You get a notebook and anything you write in it you can create, but the list isn't exhaustive, it's merely very large and each word can be combined with adjectives to make it more complex. You create words to solve puzzles on a level by level basis and trying to figure out how to solve each level is so very satisfying, as is seeing your creations come to life. Creating Zeus and giving him a machine gun to fight off Cthulu with is an interesting experiment to say the least.

If you have a big imagination then Scribblenauts Remix is the game for you. It runs well, controls well, gives you a plentiful amount of word options and gives you some great situations to solve. It is a great pity that the game is very short, it can be beaten entirely in three or four hours, and it has very little replay value. There is a sandbox mode that let's you create anything you want to a limit, but you are unlikely to be messing around with the sandbox mode for longer than thirty minutes, especially due to the creation limit. There is a DLC that adds a few new levels but I'm generally against DLC that costs more than the game does and only adds 25% more content. Where it not for the limitations and shortcomings of replayability then I would happily recommend this game to anyone with an iPhone or iPad. Even with those shortcomings there is still a lot to enjoy and it can be enjoyed by very many type of gamers. The game only costs $0.99, at the moment, while the DLC costs $1.99.  Check out this video to see some gameplay and you may find more information on the links below.

Too short, but otherwise a fantastic game for an excellent price. If you own an iPhone or iPad buy it already!
