Americana Dawn Kickstarter

Do you miss old school Japanese role-playing games, especially the kind that gave you a depth of classes to work with and actually added interesting features like strategy or management of some kind? Well Americana Dawn is PC a game that is trying to do some interesting things and it is partially inspired by one of my all time favorite series, Suikoden. Don't know Suikoden? Well thankfully I have a review of Suikoden 2 floating around the website. Americana Dawn will use a similar dueling system to that of the Suikoden series and will also have some kind of large scale war system. It is about a spirit that has taken the form of a human in Colonial America. You place this spirit, a Keeper, who takes the name Alfred and gets involved in the revolutionary war. There is a lot more to the story than that and the game will focus on historical events, allowing you to read and learn about them while also experiencing them. All of this will be done with a JRPG arty style that should be familiar and attractive to those who grew up playing RPG's. You will be able to choose from a wide array of classes, most of which can be seen on here, and they will also be based on real military ranks and positions. Read on for the Kickstarter video, which includes a good deal of gameplay, and some more info.

It is important to note that this game will be freeware and all of the funding will go entirely to development, it will also be specifically for PC. With that said the developer is looking for a very small amount of pledges, $2,700, in order to get this game completed. They are currently already at $1,900, so only $800 more to go, but there are only eleven days left to reach the goal. The game will be over twenty hours in length and the pledge awards are all pretty minor rewards, as you would expect from something that is free and being made by a very small number of people, but it looks to be worth backing if you are a fan of old school JRPG's and want to see the genre come to life once again. Take a look at the video and let me know what you think, I plan to back it and I would love to know what you all think about it. More info can be found on the links below. Thanks for reading.
