Out Tomorrow: Gettysburg Armored Warfare

Gettysburg: Armored Warfare had a questionable release date and model for quite some time, but now it has all been revealed along with the release date. It will be coming out tomorrow on Steam and other digital distribution services, like Gamersgate, for PC only. For a while they kept hinting that it might be free to play, but now it has come out with a $10 price tag. Feel free to check out my previous post on the game if you want more information on it, but here is a basic list of what will be in the game, also a quick overview, plus at the end I have some news about the first mod for the game.

Gettysburg is a RTS/FPS hybrid that puts you in control of massive armies with a personal touch that let's you customize your army and take control of individual units. You use these armies in huge multiplayer matches that let sixty-four players battle it out on several different game modes. The game has a civil war/cyberpunk theme that mixes line infantry with zepellins, tanks, artillery and mini-guns. Now for a finalized list of the games features.

-64 players per server
-4 maps (9 km x 9 km in size)
-Over 1,000 controllable units on the battlefield at once
-Play as Union or Confederate
-14 unit types (infantry, cavalry, tanks, ships, zeppelins and more)
-Persistent Point/XP system and Statistics Tracking
-Steam Achievements
-Army Builder with Steam Cloud support for saving your armies
-Multiple gameplay modes including Army, Skirmish and Deathmatch
-Integrated World Editor for creating your own battlefields
-Full toolset for creating and sharing modifications via Steam Workshop (will release Spring 2012)

I don't know about you but that is a very attractive deal for $10. Here is the latest video showing off gameplay, the one also seen in one of my earlier posts, but it is still the best one out there at the moment. If you want more information check out the main website or facebook page. After the video I have some news about the Desert Warfare mod coming out shortly after the release.

Gamespy did an article four days ago about the first mod, a free mod, for Gettysburg: Armored Warfare. It will be available through the Steam Workshop and it is being made by the developer, Danny Green. It will include some modern tanks and modern infantry and the main purpose of the mod will be to show the modding community what you could do with the free modding tools. Check out the full article below.
