Rainbow Moon Revealed

Sidequest Studios is making a PS3 strategy rpg exclusively for the PS3. It was announced some time ago with some basic details, but a few days ago they released their first gameplay video and new details. You may know Sidequest Studios for Soldner-X 1 and 2, but those are both side scrolling shooters while Rainbow Moon is an entirely new genre for them. Rainbow Moon involves exploration, character development and a turn based battle system. Battles take place on a grid map that looks very similar to old school turn based strategy games, the kind I personally love, and you control three party members as you battle many different types of enemies. Each character has skills and some basic commands, like attack, defend, use an item and escape. There are over 120 skills in the game and they are each suitable for different types of characters. All of this sounds pretty typical for a strategy rpg, which is fine, but then combine it with the large open world and it starts to look a little bit more interesting.

PSN Exclusive: Rainbow Moon

There is no release date for Rainbow Moon yet, but they say it will be published on PSN in a couple weeks, which may mean it will be out on PSN in a couple weeks or merely that it will actually have a release date by then. The game itself looks to have a lot of depth when it comes to character development and a colorful and vast world. It will also have over fifty trophies to earn and it is one of the few PSN games that actually has a platinum trophy. It is an interesting game and not the kind of game you ever seen on PSN or XBLA. Certainly it is something that looks unique, but we will see how it turns out. It seems to have the potential to go either way. Check out the trailer to see it in action and take a look at the links below for more info.
