Castlevania: Lord of Shadows 2 E3 Trailer

Apparently MercurySteam and Kojima Productions are making another Castlevania: Lord of Shadows. This previously unannounced, but rumored, title has debuted it's first trailer today. They have revealed any information on the game yet, but I've looked around a couple places and been able to figure out a little bit about it. The first game put you in control Gabriel Belmont, a vampire hunter, and the second game brings him back, but if you've played the first game you may be wondering how that is possible. Without spoiling anything let's just say that the second game probably won't have you controlling Gabriel again, but he is definitely integral to the plot. The main playable character may be him, but it could also be the unexplained white haired vampire in the game, which looks quite a bit like Alucard from my favorite Castlevania game of all time. The CG non-gameplay trailer does show a giant, so you can expect to battling colossal enemies once again, but they really need to show that the game is better than the first.

The First Castlevania: Lord of Shadows was not good. It wasn't a terrible game, but it wasn't a Castlevania game. Sure it has Belmonts and vampires, but gameplay wise it had nothing that one would associate with the series. Adam reviewed it back in early days, it was actually one of the first games we ever reviewed, and didn't care all that much for it. The game didn't even have Dracula in it, but in the two DLC's they added a little more story and added a Dracul character, who will be in the second game. I don't have a lot of hope for this second game, especially since they couldn't make the first game good and they had Patrick Stewart on board (Jon Luc Picard people!). I sure hope that the first gameplay we see, whenever that is, will show that they have learned from their mistakes. Without further ado check out the trailer.

  1. the game wasnt good? everything they did was intentional friggin critics really "no dracula" please go fuck youyself

    1. The combat wasn't very well made, the huge boss battles weren't utilized very well and the story was overly dramatic. The game was decent, but no it was not good and it had very little to do with the Castlevania franchise.
